The T.C.A. – The Trusted Source For Chiropractic Information There is always an event or seminar being provided by the Texas Chiropractic Association. The T.C.A. and T.C.A. District Five offers chiropractors, chiropractic students and chiropractic assistants the types of classes that allow you to renew your license, receive special certifications and enhance your skills and knowledge. Doctors of Chiropractic in Texas must obtain at least sixteen (16) hours of approved continuing education courses every 12 months as a requirement for renewing their license each year. Your C.E. reporting year begins on the first day of the month in which your birthday occurs. Your C.E.’s must be from courses specifically approved by the T.B.C.E. Effective on or after July 1, 2009, a minimum of four of the sixteen required hours of continuing education shall include topics designated by the T.B.C.E. Those four hours should include two hours of an ethics course specifically related to the practice of chiropractic. One hour of continuing education related to risk management relating to the Chiropractic Act, the T.B.C.E. rules and other laws relevant to the practice of chiropractic in Texas. Also one hour related to record keeping, documentation and coding relevant to the practice of chiropractic. The new required four hours of ethics, risk management and record keeping, documentation and coding applies only to doctors whose license renewal is on or after July 1, 2009. If your renewal is due before that date, you will not be affected. The T.C.A. and T.C.A. District Five will be offering opportunities throughout 2009 for District Five chiropractors to obtain these hours. The current seminars are listed below. But please check back frequently for additional educational events and seminars. The following are events and seminars specific to T.C.A. District Five
